My name is Charles Werner, I purchased QUEEN"S CARPET CARE in 1996. I have been in this industry for over 10 years and Queen's is my third carpet cleaning business. I started cleaning carpets shortly after I moved to Houston in 1995. Like most people I was not quite sure what I was going to do with my life. I came from a military family. My father was part of the 75th Rangers in Vietnam. My Grandfather was in the Navy in World War 11. Desert Storm started just after my first year of college. I felt like I needed to put my schooling aside and join the Army. My tour never included time in the Desert. I served in Fort Benning Georgia, West Point, and finished my service with the 101st Airborne in Fort Campbell Kentucky.
My first opportunity to work with carpets was in 1995 after my tour ended with the 101st Airborne. I started working for a small carpet cleaning company and found that I really enjoyed it! The experience made me want to start my own company. My first venture was called Atlas Carpet Care. Many of my customers may still remember that. I started with a little plug in portable carpet cleaning unit and a never-die spirit! Making my customers happy was my only goal!
The hard work and spirit paid off. A few months after starting my first company I acquired a company called One Trip Carpet Care. It was exciting to have more new customers and new cleaning challenges. I was only 25 years old and eager to make my business even better. A year later I bought QUEEN'S CARPET CARE. Queen's was originally founded by Victor Kay in 1980. Victor is a personal friend of mine and a respected businessman.
It has been many years since I started in the business and my values have not changed. It is important to me to consistently update and expand.
